The Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) is a division under the Office of the City Mayor. It was created through Executive Order No. 18 Series of 2012, specifically to provide protection, security, safety and risk management to the people of Davao City.
The PSSO operates through coordinative approach to address the different issues of safety and security relative to Crime, Terrorism, Security, Traffic, Health and Social Services, Emergency Services, and Disaster Risk Reduction by using information, people, technology, and intelligent solutions.
This coordination between, but not limited to, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the Task Force Davao (TFD), the Traffic Management Center (TMC), the Central 911, the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DCDRRMC), the Barangay Officials and other law enforcement agencies, plays a vital role in the operations of the PSSO in furtherance of the peace and order of the city.
Our Vision and Mission
We envision the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) as a model of coordinative and collaborative efficiency, providing a superior, multi-agency inter-operability effectiveness thus establishing Davao City as an icon in safety, order and security for persons, properties and infrastructures,
WHERE:
Laws are enforced and obeyed;
Criminality is prevented and controlled;
Proper public decorum is observed;
Road accidents are avoided;
Epidemics are immediately detected and controlled;
Violence in all forms is deterred;
Risks of natural disasters are mitigated; and
Emergency assistance by the public is promptly and competently served
THROUGH AND WITH:
Highly cooperative, well-coordinated and fully capable national agencies, city offices and volunteer organizations in the government, non-government and private sectors operating in and from Davao City.

A committed, competent and cohesive work force of employees, who are compliant to clearly formulated policies, processes and work protocols.
DEVELOPING AND APPLYING:
Appropriate, state-of-the-art information, communications and management technologies with sound, forward-looking, problem-focused management practices on a day-to-day basis and during crises conditions.
Our beginnings
The City Government of Davao’s innovative and coordinative approach on providing protection, security, safety and risk management to its stakeholders leads to the creation of the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) thru Executive Order No. 18, Series of 2012.
